As part of our wedding celebration, we would like to incorporate North American, Asian, and Spanish traditions
Below are a few interesting Spanish / Catalan traditions which you may not be familiar with:
- The service does not typically included a flower girl, pageboy, best man, or a maid of honor. A designate of the groom will gift the bride’s wedding bouquet along with a poem that he has written
- A traditional wedding flower is the Orange Blossom
- Cake cutting is often done with a sword
- Guests throw rose petals
- The groom presents the bride with 13 coins (Arras)
- Typical dress code for wedding celebrations is quite formal
- There is plenty of food and drink
- Dinner and the wedding party can run late into the night
Come dressed in your best and plan your wedding day siesta and meal accordingly!
